Beijing, Oct.29 – Zhi-Xing Fellow, Ms. Holly Flanagan visited China Women’s University to study women’s education, employment and entrepreneurship in China.
Upon arrival, Ms. Flanagan was warmly received by University leaders. Professor Liu Liqun, president of the University and a former Eisenhower Fellow extended her warm welcome to Ms. Flanagan. Professor Song Shengju, vice president of the University introduced the history, degree programs and features of the CWU as well as the employment of its graduates. During the meeting, Ms. Flanagan learned about gender equality, training and support for women entrepreneurs, and women studies in China. She also discussed women entrepreneurship in the United States.
After the meeting, University leaders showed Ms. Flanagan around Shuiyu Café, a coffee shop run by students. Ms. Flanagan had a cordial discussion with the student managers and gave advice on how to run businesses and improve sales.
Other participants of the meeting include Bao Qinglin, Director of the Enrollment and Student Employment Division; Zhang Ruizhi, Director of the Student Affairs Division; Hou Dianmu, Vice Dean of the Management School; Ye Shuiping, Director of the International Exchange Office; Zhang Jianhua, member of the International Exchange Office.
